Organizing a studio to support memory, safety, and peace.

Working alongside a devoted daughter whose mother is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, we’re thoughtfully paring down her studio to minimize choices, support memory, and create calm—one area at a time.

01

Goal

Working alongside a devoted daughter whose mother is in the early stages of Alzheimer’s, we’re thoughtfully paring down her studio to minimize choices, support memory, and create calm—one area at a time.

03

One Area At A Time

It's important to make the process feel manageable, especially for someone experiencing memory loss or anxiety. A gradual approach also allows systems to be introduced gently, so the space remains familiar and comforting rather than disruptive.

02

Declutter & Sort

Alzheimer’s can make decision-making, memory, and daily routines feel overwhelming, which often leads to clutter building up over time. We're taking a gentle, step-by-step approach to help reduce overwhelm.

04

Labeling & Minimalism

Minimalism helps reduce visual clutter and decision fatigue, making it easier to navigate daily life. Clear, consistent labeling creates simple visual cues that support memory, routine, independence, and long-term solutions.
